Ulysses Petroleum Management is an affiliation of highly experienced petroleum industry executives

While technology is seen as a key element in keeping the industry competitive, demographics suggest that it is still going to be the experience and skills of its human resource base that are critical to managing the change that is coming.

Ulysses Petroleum Management has been created to bring to its clients deep experience across the  value chain, with the ultimate objective of maximising value through informed decision making.

Experience is the factor that allows what otherwise might remain a 2D analysis to become a 3D perspective.  Such an enhanced viewpoint improves the chance that issues will be anticipated before they become problems, and allows a complex problem to be understood, described and communicated clearly whoever the audience.

With backgrounds in both advisory organisations and major company operations, as well as within private (IOC) and state (INOC/NOC) entities, Ulysses Petroleum Management is able to provide practically-based advice and tailor solutions to clients with very different stakeholder dynamics.

While experience is the core, it is not the end.  Ultimately, that must be to ensure that this experience is not lost, by involving and mentoring the next generation of leadership along the way.

Why “Ulysses”?  Tennyson's poem inspires the idea of not ending your career sitting back and getting bored (It little profits that an idle king;

how dull it is to pause, to make an end, to rust unburnish'd, not to shine in use!), but to take all that experience (much have I seen and known; I am a part of all that I have met) and have one final adventure (some work of noble note may yet be done). The desire to learn never ends (this gray spirit yearning in desire to follow knowledge like a sinking star), nor the wish to ensure it is all passed to the next generation as they step up to lead (this is my son ... to whom I leave the sceptre and the isle).
